Out & About

My Bridges finally got her windows tinted today. While we waited Lucca and I drove around Camarillo, visited the Chanel Islands University, bought some fresh fruit at a local farmer’s market, and did some shopping at the outlets. It was a real nice day to be out and about.

CPR & First Aid

Today I took a full day of CPR and First Aid which is the next step in becoming a CPR instructor for the Red Cross. I had the pleasure of talking to the doctor who taught it and got all kinds of cool tips on how to teach the class in the future. I’m so glad I took this course because I found out that a couple of things have changed since the last time I took this course (10 years ago). I can’t wait for the next step, which is to take a 3 week course on how to teach CPR/First Aid to others. This is going to be so cool!

Pablo in Egypt

Guess who’s back from Egypt!? Yup, that spoiled monkey, Pablo. Terry brought back some amazing pictures of Pablo and there are several more to come. I heard he had an amazing time visiting all types of temples, checking out the pyramids, sailing on the Nile, and dancing with a cobra. Go here to see more pictures of Pablo in Egypt. Woo-Hoo!

Kit-Cat & Macy's

I finally got my birthday gifts from my family yesterday. I ended up getting an awesome gift card to Macy’s (one of my favorite stores) from my folks, and a kit-cat clock from Rose and my bro. I put the clock up today; see picture above.

Revlon Run/Walk for Women

I had a wonderful time participating in the Revlon Run/Walk for Women. It was so awesome to see so many people out there running/walking for such an important cause.
The event was started by Mandy Moore and a couple of other singers. After the moment of silence Sheryl Crow started the countdown and the first group of runners took off. After a 3 miles walk we arrived to a cheering crowd, and an amazing Pat Benatar concert. Although it was nice to see a couple celebrities there it was nicer to be part of such an amazing event.

Los Toros & No Hot Fuzz

After a real long dinner at Los Toros Restaurant we rushed over to the theatre to see HOT FUZZ but sadly didn’t make it on time. We had to wait over an hour to get a table at the restaurant and then had to deal with attitude from the hostess. Grrr….. Because we missed our movie, we decided to go to the mall instead and hang out some more.

Here’s something we didn’t expect to see at Sharper Image! WTF? The Donald is selling steaks now?! LOL!

I'm 29!

This birthday turned out awesome! I got some pretty awesome gifts, sweet cards, and a poem…woohoo! Then I got my free lunch at La Capilla (a local Torrance Mexican Restaurant) complete with a free flan. So far 29 isn’t so bad.

Bestest Day Before My B-day

My birthday isn’t until tomorrow and it is already turning out to be one of the bestest (an Ana term) birthdays ever! I already got a couple of birthday emails, some phone calls, and a beautiful bouquet of flowers with the sweetest card ever from my Marco. OMG this rocks!

Simon & The San Diego Zoo

A bunch of us decided to visit the San Diego Zoo over the weekend. This was my first time there and I absolutely loved it! Because Pablo is in Egypt at the moment I picked up a new little friend (Simon) to join me on my SD Zoo adventure. Don’t worry, he’s not a Pablo replacement…he’s just a temporary stand in. See more pictures here.

Rubio's Friday

This week’s Friday lunch wasn’t as adventurous as previous Friday lunches but I still made it a point to try something new from Rubio’s Baja Grill menu. I had one of their healthy salad choices which turned out to be super yummy with guacamole and roasted chipotle sauce which gave it an amazing flavor.

At Home

So I ended up getting sick again and had to stay home from work. The girls (Smuckers and Lily) love it when I stay home because it means they get to bug me all day and force me to play with them. They were being so sweet and cute that I decided to bust out the camera and take a few pics.

Terry & Eugenia

Mostly everyone joined Terry after work in celebrating his upcoming marriage to Eugenia. We had a wonderful buffet dinner, hung out with co-workers /friends and congratulated Terry. The lovely couple will be having their ceremony in Italy and then will be going to Egypt for the honeymoon. They were kind enough to invite Pablo along with them, that lucky monkey!
Congratulations Terry & Eugenia!

Omega Paw Litter Box

Today my girls got to try out their new litter box. The one we had was a little yucky and was way too much work to clean up. I found this Omega Paw litter box on Amazon for only $32 for the large size. This thing is so awesome! To clean up the mess you roll the entire box on its side and pull out a little tray that captures all of the kitty waste. See picture above for detailed instructions LoL.

"Watch Now" tab on Netflix

There’s a new tab on Netflix! Now you can watch (download) movies directly on your computer. No more waiting to get your movies via snail mail. Of course they have a small selection available at the moment, but the selection should expand soon. For those of you who don’t have the “Watch Now” tab, no worries, all you have to do is go to your account, cancel (but don’t really cancel it!), then go back to the previous page and your tab should be there. WooHoo!

Lucky Friday 13

Friday the 13th turned out to be pretty awesome! At work a bunch of us went to “El Pollo Inca”, some Peruvian restaurants that serves amazing rotisserie chicken, and had some yummy food. I ordered the ¼ chicken and beans with a side of plantains. Yum-Yum!

Later I joined my DL buddies in surprising Zachy at the Dodgers game he had tickets to. His girlfriend got tickets for everyone but didn’t tell Zachy. When they got to the game all of us were there. Yay! We celebrated Zachy’s birthday by watching a fun baseball game and having yummy Dodger Dogs. (More pictures here)

ARC Volunteer

Today I started my Volunteer process for the American Red Cross. I’m so excited! I have wanted to volunteer for stuff a little more since Heal the Bay and found the Red Cross through Volunteer Match.org. Today I attended my volunteer orientation and once my background check clears and I go through a quick interview I can start my training. I am still not sure what type of volunteering I want to get into but that’s what the interview portion is for. I can’t wait to get started!

405 Graffiti

The 405 freeway is really being polluted with graffiti lately! I have noticed that in the past few months the amount of graffiti that is showing up on the 405 is just crazy. It’s just everywhere and it looks awful. A lot of the graffiti that is going up seems to be pointless too; usually graffiti is used to mark territory but I actually saw a huge display of the word “YEAH” near the Santa Monica stretch of the 405. WTF, who the hell would graffiti that?!

405 Car Fire

Although the drive took a while, the 405 was a little more exciting today with a car fire on the 4th lane of the south bound side. That sucks for the owner of the car …not to mention those poor people on the south bound side. Yikes!

The Fit

Today Caitlyn showed up with her first car, a little Honda Fit. She is so excited! I’m so happy for her; she has waited a while for this.

Fanoos Grill & Cat Toy

Today...

I tried Persian food for the first time today and loved it! Fridays we try to make it a little exciting by going somewhere new for lunch and today we went to a new little Persian restaurant called Fanoos Grill in Torrance. The place didn’t look like anything special at first, but after tasting their food…wow! Also today...
The girls got a new toy from Susana and they’re having a blast with it. It’s amazing how entertaining a circling ball is to a cat.

Mustang & Art Show

We had the honor of riding in Regi’s mustang today and it was tons of fun! We drove with the top down and let the wind blow through our hair while listening to some bad ass Tupac.
Later Amanda and I attended an art show opening at the local college and were very impressed at the work they were showing. The painting/sculptures were amazing, too bad we can’t afford any of them.

M.C. Escher Rap

OMG this weeks Family Guy was so funny! I couldn’t stop laughing after seeing this!

6th Year Anniversary

Marco & I celebrated our 6th year anniversary by going to Black Angus for dinner. It was nice to taste dessert again even though I could only take a few bites before I was stuffed.

Thanks for the wonderful dinner & flowers Lucca!

Indoor Helicopter

Today the girls got a new toy. Well it turns out the toy is more for Marco than for the cats. LoL! Lily & Smuckers are very curious about the indoor copter but they’re still a little afraid of it.

Water Walk & The Getty

Today was so awesome!
I participated in the World Water Day walk at Santa Monica along with several hundred people. This was for a great cause and I can’t wait to participate again next year. After my 6 mile walk to Venice Beach and back to Santa Monica Pier I had a fabulous shrimp dish for lunch. (see more pics here)

Later I decided to stop by the Getty Museum on my way home and check out their special collections. I took advantage of the great weather and took an architectural tour and after a few hours of taking in some culture I headed home.
Today was soooo awesome!

Full Tank for $5

Marco got lucky today when he went to fill up his tank. It turns out the gas station near our house made the mistake of inputting 33 cents a gallon instead of $3.30! So he left with a full tank of gas for only $5! Lucky Guy!

Rocky Peak

Marco and I decided to go to Rocky Peak for our weekend hike. This was our first time up there and it turned out to be a real nice hike. The weather was nice and cool which was perfect for hiking but didn’t give us a very clear view of the valley.

Little Ethan

We had a wonderful time visiting Janice and meeting little Ethan for the first time. That baby is the cutest thing ever!!! I can’t wait to see him again. He loves posing for the camera as you can see in this picture. It looks like he is giving us his Blue Steel Magnum look here. Hehehe…he’s so adorable!!

Thanks for inviting us over Janice!

Ceramic Teapots

Our teapots are finally out of the kiln and they’re looking pretty good. Amanda made a cute little fishy and I ended up creating a cat teapot. Now we have to figure out what colors to glaze them before they go into the kiln again. This ceramics class is turning out to be lots of fun.

Photography Outing

My buddy Thomas and I decided to go on a photography outing since our plans to visit the Observatory fell through. First we took some nice shots at The Grove and later drove over to the La Brea Tar Pits area. I had an awesome time! I love going out with my camera and just taking random pictures of stuff.
