Welcome to Monday

Today was a pretty eventful day.

It started out by discovering that our office had been broken into over the weekend. They busted the windows in someone's office and took a monitor of all things. LoL!

Then Flickr managed to amaze me again by hooking me up with a free month of flickr for participating in their color contest. Yay Flickr!

And lastly, we got the green light by our boss to attend the HFES conference coming up. That means Amanda, Jess, and I will be going to San Francisco in Oct. Yay! I'm really looking forward to that because I get to see my HF pals from CSUN again.

Rose's 24th!

We finally got a chance to celebrate Rose's birthday at Brent's. I hope she enjoys the gift cards and chocolates she got.

Happy 24th Birthday Rose!

Chips for Cats

Today the girls went to the local shelter and got Micro-chipped. I feel so much better to know the girls are registered in case they get lost. So now my girls are sporting their new chips and tags.

Friday Summary

Happy 24th Birthday to Rose! I can't wait to celebrate it on Sunday.

Other things that happened today:
A few of us played a practical joke on poor little Gus at work. Sorry dude.
I got a sample of some yummy Pilipino cookies from Kevin, and
Marco started building his new "ultimate" computer.

Ugly Cells

For the past few weeks we’ve been waiting to get results from my mom’s biopsy. It turns out she’s got some abnormal cells and they wanted to make sure it wasn’t cancer. Today I found out that they are pretty sure it’s not. Thank god! They’ll be keeping a close eye on her though, just to make sure those cells don’t get ugly.

TiVo TiMe

Marco and I finally coughed up the 10 bucks a month and got our cable's version of TiVo. Now I don't know how we lived without it for so long! I'll never miss my favorite shows again! Yeehaw!

License place frame of the day: Driver carries no money, she’s a teacher!

Our office is ready...well, sort of.

Our office is ready and we've started moving in! Now we've got room for all kinds of stuff, woo-hoo! Ok, so a chunk of the carpet is missing, and they didn't quite finish the ceiling, and the outlet covers are gone, but overall it looks pretty good. LoL.

So all we have left to do is decorate. Jess should be getting her poster in soon and I'm looking into either getting a plant or cots for our afternoon siesta naps (yeah right, I wish).

Ladies Night

I had a wonderful time at ladies night. Thank you for inviting me girls! Then on my way home I didn’t hit traffic so I was home in half and hour. Yaaaaay! Today was a good day.

Hell is in the Valley!

Dang it was hot this weekend! I hope the weather calms down a bit soon. On Sat. it got so hot it felt like your skin was going to burn off when you went outside. Good thing we didn't have to deal with any blackouts 'cause I couldn't deal without an air conditioner (knock on wood).

The Lighthouse

It was so freakin' hot today!! Rose and I escaped the heat by going to Long Beach to scout out possible wedding spots. I think she's found it! We visited a beautiful lighthouse where my brother and she shared their first Christmas together. Just as we arrived at the spot a wedding was about to begin. It was so beautiful! I think that was a sign.

Other things that happened today:
I ran into Craig at Islands in Torrance,
The temp got up to 117 degrees Fahrenheit in the valley, and
Marco got together with other Subaru owners to show off his car.

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Office Update II

Our office is almost twice as big as it was before but not quite done yet. The bigger challenge will be trying to figure out how to set our stuff up.

Flickr Rocks!

Dude, how cool is this!? I went to Flickr.com to upload some of my pictures, and the site was down. Normally that would make me a little upset but after I read their "Sorry for the inconvenience" page I was totally ok with the situation. Not only did Flickr apologize for their site being down, but also offered a one year Pro Account (coloring contest) to anyone who printed their page and colored it. So you're probably wondering..."Did Ana color the page?" Well duh, if you know anything about me, you know I did. You can see it here. It's not my best work since I wanted to post it right away, but it was fun to do. Thank you for being so awesome Flickr!!

Office Expansion

They're still working on our office at work. It should be finished by the end of the week...we'll see.

Strawberry Waffles

Had some yummy waffles topped with fresh strawberries today.

Goodbye to another legend

I’m saddened to find out that June Allyson died last weekend at the age of 88. It seems like all of my favorite actors are dead or close to it. I love the black & white actors more than any actors of today. Back in the day an actor had to be TALENTED, it seems that today, they just have to look good. Sure, there are talented actors today, but most are not. It’s sad to know the best actors are almost extinct.

Rrrrrrrrrrr....

I love these new Happy Meal toys from McDonald's!

Back for more

I survived my two crown preps today but not without plenty more shots. Although I was trying to avoid taking them, I had to give in and take another Vicodin. I'm sure that by tomorrow my gums will no longer be swollen and I'll be back to normal again. Yay, I can't wait.

Today I...

Several things happened today:

1. I took Jess and Dave to LAX for a flight to Chicago.
2. Discovered you can order Chipotle salads online. Sorry Susana!
3. The expansion to our new office started.
4. I was talked into upgrading my Flickr account. Thanks Lemon!
5. I found this hanger while waiting for the light to turn green and started to wonder how it got there.
6. And had a blast reading the Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest 2006 results. Thanks Amanda and Thomas!

Hell Yeah!

This show has quickly become my favorite show of the season! I have been a Ramsay fan since his British show “Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares.” I absolutely love his short temper and colorful vocabulary. Even better, I love to see people breakdown from it. LoL!

If you haven’t seen these shows, you should.
Hell’s Kitchen: Two teams compete to win a restaurant on the Vegas strip.
Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares: Ramsay tries to help failing restaurants by working his magic for a week and then visits the restaurant months later to see how it’s doing.

Other things that happened today:
- Jess and I started packing our office up so that they can start on the expansion plan.
- An old friend from high school moved in next door to my parents! WTF!
- And, I actually got home from work in 40 minutes.

Campioni del Mondo

The game started out quickly when both teams scored goals in the first 20 minutes but then became a little boring when nothing happened after that. You could tell that both teams were extremely tired during overtime but France did come close to scoring 3 times. Although I was rooting a little more for Italy, it was clear that France was playing a bit better. At the end, the French missed a penalty shot and Italy was pronounced the world cup winners. Poor French.

My Reviews

Pirates 2:
The hype for this movie was huge so I expected it would be a pretty decent movie...Nope, the movie turned out to be boring as hell. Not only was the movie painfully long, but it turned out to be a total filler with an annoying "To Be Continued..." conclusion. I wouldn't recommend spending $10 to see it in the theater.

Brent's Deli:
Marco and I couldn't stay away from Brent's for too long and decided to go back this weekend. Although the wait to get a table was 20 minutes, the food and service were amazing! Their burgers are huge and juicy, the mashed potatoes are fresh, and their deserts are to die for. You must try their ginormous e'clairs!

Another Root Canal

Root canals hurt! Today I went into the dentist's office with a toothache that's been bugging me all week and came out with a root canal. Omg, talk about drama! It took 6 tubes of Novocain to keep me numb and the doctor suggested I pick up some Vicodin...ouch!
I'm just glad the worst part is over. I hate having that stupid rubber dam on for so long. Now all that's left is the prepping and delivery of my two crowns. Yay!

Vicodin is my friend.

Pablo in Taiwan

Pablo's Taiwan (Taipei) pictures are here! Three weeks ago Pablo joined Kevin on his trip to Taiwan and judging from the pictures, it looks like they had a wonderful time.
A special thanks to Kevin for taking Pablo along.

Happy 4th of July!

A couple of us drove out to Castaic to check out the firework show and play in the park a bit.
Besides the horrible karaoke singers and the games falling apart, I think we all had a real nice time.

Bad Kitty!

Don't let this cute face fool you. This kitty is a real terror! We've tried everything to keep her out of the closets and drawers, but still manages to get in there. We even installed magnet fastenings thinking that those would keep her out...NOPE, we were wrong. I don't know what to do with her anymore. She's becoming a bigger terror than her sister! These cute kitties are testing my patience.

The Dane Train

I've added a link to Dane Cook's site below, why? Because he's the greatest comedian ever!
One of my favorite Dane bits:
Car Alarm

My favorite Dane FAQ answer:
Q: Do you drink or do drugs?
A: No. I've never even tried them. Not a sip of alcohol in my life. Why? I just know it's not my thing. The same way you wouldn't want to drink motor oil is how I feel about drugs and alcohol. Zero desire to put that stuff in my body. But at the peak of my success when everything is perfect in the world I've been thinking of celebrating with a blast of heroin. Just one time though. I know I can stop.

My other favorite comedians:
Demetri Martin
Dave Chappelle
Jeff Foxworthy
Pablo Francisco
George Lopez
Jerry Seinfeld
Carlos Mencia
Mitch Hedberg
Larry the Cable Guy
Jamie Kennedy
Lewis Black
Gabriel Iglesias
And many more...
