ATVing in Pismo

The ATV trip turned out to be amazing! We drove over 70 miles in the sand dunes and along the shoreline of Pismo Beach...it was real beautiful. Tomorrow is going to be interesting when I can't move my arms and legs from the pain. LoL! My thumb already feels broken, ouch.

Jocko's in Pismo

Our first day in Pismo was awesome. We checked into a lovely hotel (The Cottage Inn by the Sea) right by the beach and went out for some real yummy steaks at Jocko's steakhouse. This place has the best steaks ever! I can't wait until tomorrow when we get to ride ATVs on the Pismo dunes.

Turning 28

My 28th birthday turned out to be a blast! It started out a little rocky when the restaurant we had planned to have lunch at was closed due to the immigration walkouts. After lunch it started to get better when friends from DRI bought me lunch and the DL gang threw me an awesome birthday party at Janice's. We had such a great time eating and watching a movie.
Thank you to everyone for making my birthday so special! This includes everyone who sent me emails, IM messages and e-cards. You guys are awesome!!

Jack on 405

If you ever find yourself in L.A., on the 405 Fwy, going North, wave hello to the Jack that's sitting under the overpass right before the National exit. I always do.

Cheech & Children

Susana and I attended the "Bronze Screen, 100 Years of Latinos in Movies" in Torrance today. I had a wonderful time learning about my culture and the struggles they've had to deal with in Hollywood. The evening ended with a surprise visit by Mr. Cheech Marin who presented 5 students with $1000 scholarships for their outstanding work in their pursuit of a career in the film industry.
A special thanks to Susana for inviting me along and to Karen for hooking us up with the tickets.

Plummer Puppy

Here's another picture I've wanted to take for months. I pass this spot regularly but never had time to stop until today. I'm not sure what the purpose of this puppy is but it sure does add a little something to the area.

The Promenade

Instead of sitting in the parking lot known as the 405 Fwy, I decided to make the best out of the situation and do some shopping. I ended up stopping by the Promenade at the Howard Hughes Center which turned out to be real nice. Next time there's traffic I'll have to explore a bit more.

Pablo in Paris

Yay, I got a letter from Pablo today all the way from Paris.
It reads:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Salut mes amis!
Quelle Voyage! La cité de Paris est magnifique --- il'y a trop des chose pour voir -- le vin, le vin, le vin .. mon dieu!!
J'ai passé le premier jour à la Musée D'Orsay avec les impressionists -- Monet, Van Gogh, Renoir ... ah les peintures sont incroyable... aprés ça nous allons à la Café de Flores pour prenons un verre du vin rouge et parler d'existentialisme comme les autres auteurs fameux (Sartre, Hemingway, etc..) ---
Le deuxieme et le troisieme jour -- ah bain --- on attend pour la rest de l'histoire!! Je partir avec Terry le demain matin et je reviens à Los Angeles lundi soir ----
à bientôt,
Pablo (le singe)
Go Lakers!
Felix and I airbrushed tattoos for the Staple Center today for the Lakers game. It was pretty cool 'cause we got to watch the game for free if we wanted. I ended up leaving right after the gig but Felix stuck around to see part of the game. I hope I end up going again; the energy in that place was amazing!
Zach's Birthday Party
Today we celebrated Zachy's birthday at his best friend's (Jeff) house in Playa Visata. I had a real nice time and absolutely loved their condo. I think we all had fun, especially Adrian.
A special thanks to Jeff for inviting us all into his home.
Rainbow
A group of us went out to dinner and a movie (Scary Movie 4) after work today. Right before we entered the cinema a real pretty rainbow appeared and we just had to take a picture. Good thing it has stopped raining for now!
Brussels, Belgium
Here's Pablo having a yummy waffle in Brussels. He got so excited with the waffle he ended up getting it on his leg. Looks like he'll need a shower when he gets back.
Pink StarFish Flowers
Awww...it's always fun getting surprised with flowers. Today Dave surprised Jess (my officemate) with flowers...very pretty flowers. How sweeeeeeeeeeeet!
Pablo in Aalst, Belgium
The first pictures of Pablo in Belgium are in, and it looks like he and Terry are having way too much fun out there! According to Terry, Pablo is a total Party Animal. Here's a picture of him trying to impress the local chicks. LoL! It looks like he'll be spending today recovering from his hangover.
Birthdays of the Day
My bro and I worked another birthday party in Beverly Hills which turned out to be a total drag 'cause we had to stand outside in the scorching sun for 5 hours! I'm not a huge fan of being in the sun so this was a very bad experience for me. Now I looked stupid 'cause I was wearing a half sleeve shirt. The last thing I need is to walk around with half tanned arms. Argh!
Anyway, on a brighter note, Happy Birthday to Zachy who turns 26 today!! WooHoo! Also, congrats to Zachy and Arielle for their recent engagement! I know you're both going to have a beautiful life together! Cheers!
Ta-Da!
Here's Jess showing us another one of her hidden talents. Can you tell that Casual Fridays brings out the goofy side of us? Other things that happened today:
- Pablo left for his trip to France/Belgium with Terry,
- I started to get sick, and
- Marco got his birthday gift, a PDA.
NKOTB
I think Jess and I have become obsessed with the New Kids' song "Tonight" or maybe it's a result of inhaling toxic fumes that seep through our walls from the company next door.
Jess, I uploaded this pic just for you. Enjoy!
Oops
I think I got up a little too early today! I walked into the office as I always do and put my keys on the new hooks right above the light switches...well, sort of.
Other things that happened today:
- We had a farewell lunch for, one of our best RA's, Gloria,
- A small group of us celebrated Marco's 33rd birthday at Island's,
- Jess and I got reacquainted with New Kids on the Block, and
- I realized that I can't function without a cup of coffee in the morning.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LUCA!!
Stop Already!
Wow, it's really rained this year! It seems like it's rained at least once a week for a while. I do wish it would stop though.
Another Year Gone By...
We celebrated Marco's 33rd birthday at Black Angus today even though his b-day isn't until Wednesday. I can't believe a year has gone by already! Once again Marco was treated to his favorite gifts...Fry's and Best Buy gift cards.
Wooden Anniversary
Today Marco and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary! I got a big bouquet of flowers and this super cute card. We had planned a nice dinner but we both ended up getting sick...oh well. It was nice spending time together this weekend though. Happy Anniversary to US! WooHoo!
Circuit City Church
I have wanted to take this picture for months and finally got a chance to do it yesterday. I think it's hilarious that this once was a Circuit City Store and now it's a Korean Church. The funny part is that they didn't even bother to remodel it. LoL! I wonder if they still have the original Circuit City signs inside.
Pablo on RealTravel
Pablo's new travel blog is up! I still need to upload several of his trips and clean my entries a bit but I wanted to get it up and going right away. You're welcome to check it out anyway. Enjoy!
WTF... Deer on the 405 FWY??!?
Here's something Jess and I never expected to find on SigAlert.com. I was stuck in traffic on the way home but didn't get a chance to see the deer, darn it. I wonder where they came from...Beverly Hills? LoL!
Mr. Oven Mitt
The other day while Princess Peak and I were out to lunch at Arby's, I came across this real cute oven mitt key chain. I guess the manager saw how excited I was with it that she ended up just giving it to me. Perhaps I should have just taken a picture of it and left 'cause now I don't know what to do with it.
Correction
It turns out that the picture below was not taken in Izalco, El Salvador but instead was taken in Antigua, Guatemala. My folks decided to take a short trip to Guatemala while in El Salvador and took Pablo along. Here's a picture of my cousin and Pablo that WAS taken in El Salvador.
This Saturday Pablo will be coming back from El Salvador with my folks but today I got a pleasant surprise through email. Here is the first picture of Pablo with some of the village people who live near the Izalco volcano.
Attack of the Crazy Kittens
Having two kittens around the house is sometimes difficult. Today I came home to find that my Da Vinci Code CD had been attacked (bitten and scratched). I can't leave anything small out because they'll eat it. I can't leave the closet doors open because they'll make a mess of everything. And you can't leave anything nice out because they'll tear it apart. I can't wait for these kittens to calm down a bit. Crazy girls!
Not Another Goodbye!
Saying goodbye really sucks! Today a bunch of us went to Romano's Macaroni Grill for Craig's farewell lunch. Although I'm very happy for him, I'm real sad to see someone as awesome as he is going! It's just not going to be the same without him! Waaa...
I hope he doesn't stop talking to me for posting this silly picture of him online.
*Lesson of the day: The Layers Lasagna is large enough to feed a small village! Make sure someone wants to split it before ordering.
A Smuckers Update
Smuchers is back to her old self. It turns out the sample food I had given her did not agree with her stomach, but now that it has passed and she's back to normal.
Thursday, February 23, 2006
Scardy Cat
Today Smuckers gave us a big scare when she suddenly refused to eat or drink anything. I ended up taking her to the vet and hopefully tomorrow, after her blood work has come in, I will find out what's going on. From what the doctor can see, she either ate a foreign object which may have to be surgically removed or she had an allergic reaction to some ocean fish flavored cat food sample I gave her 2 days ago. We shall see...
Gorman CA
Kevin and I had fun filming out in Gorman for an ATV study today. It was a little bit chilly though. There was still snow on the ground and the wind gusts were at least 45 mph. Brrrrr......
Hollywood Audition!
So today Princess Peak got invited to her first Hollywood audition. Yay!!! She's so excited! She sent in a tape to PBS just a week ago for a kids show host and they want her to come in for a reading. I knew they'd call her since they'd be stupid not to see how totally awesome she is. I'm sure that even if she doesn't get this part she's gonna make it big one day. I have no doubts about that!
This seemed pretty random, I wonder what the story behind this was.
Busy Friday
A summary of today's events:
- Weather got cold and it started to rain.
- Traffic was a complete nightmare on the 405. It took me 3.5 hours to get home!
- My folks left for their vacation to Central America.
- A group of us celebrated Adrian's 19th birthday at El Torito and then watched 'Date Movie' which turned out to be a hoot.
Happy Birthday Adrian!
Kisses for You...Kisses for You...
I think for those of you who got my Valentine's card yesterday, you will probably get a kick out of this picture. And for those who don't know what I'm talking about...
In short, Hallmark almost cost me my friends. LoL!
Hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day!
XoXo.
Pablo in the Philippines
Yay, pictures of Pablo in the Philippines are here! Pablo and Janice spent a couple of weeks enjoying the beautifully beaches like the one seen above. Lucky!! More pictures will be posted on my photo gallery and Pablo's blog soon. Stay tuned.
Happy Hour
Pablo had a few too many Margaritas today during Happy Hour at Acapulco where a bunch of us got together for a little while after work. That monkey better sober up by Friday since he'll be traveling with my parents to Central America for three weeks.
Shazam?
I'm loving these Saturday outings with my buddies from DL. This weekend we managed to squeeze in a couple of activities into one day.
We started our journey by going to a cute little Mexican stand (Corrales)in Ventura and had our lunch by the beach. After walking along the shoreline for a while, we walked across the street and attended the first (and probably the last) annual Chocolate festival. That festival turned out to be the biggest disappointment ever! The good thing is that it gave time to play a round of golf at "Golf n Stuff," which turned out to be a blast. We never did find out where the 'Shazam' was located but it was funny trying to figure out what it was. Our day of adventures ended by: having dinner at Chili's, and stopping by Lemonhead's place to meet his doggie.
Today was a good day!
*Lemonhead, this picture is for you. LOL!
MY Treadmill
I've been wanting my own treadmill for so long and today I finally bought it. The best thing is that now I could listen to XM radio, read my favorite mag, or watch a movie while I work out! I can go on it as much as I want and anytime I want...woo-hoo I'm exited.
Vasquez Rocks
Today we spent a beautiful day at Vasquez Rocks with some of the DL crew. It was great just getting out for a hike. I've been to Vasquez so many times and it just never gets old. Can't wait to go again!
