No More Late Nights

Yay, I am no longer living the vampire life! Our night study ended last night so now I’m back on normal working hours. Getting up this morning was a bit difficult but I made sure I left in time to stop by a Starbucks and pick up my favorite cup-o-soy latte. Yum! Too bad when I got to the office I realized they had totally messed up my order and gave me a soy chai instead…eww…it tasted like crap but I was desperate. Darn you Starbucks!...I still love you though… =D

Lazy Boy Bites

So after 3 months of waiting, our Lazy Boy sofas finally arrived! It only took 5 phone calls, one with the manager, and a little screaming. *Sigh* Yes, Lazy Boy is now on my “Companies who have the crappiest customer service” list. We’re pretty happy with the new sofas, but if we could do It all over again, we wouldn’t go with Lazy Boy.

But it isn’t fair to only point out those companies who have crappy customer service when there are so many that don’t. Today we came across EXCELLENT customer service at our local Pollo Loco. Dan, the guy who took our orders, was amazing! And after he realized he forgot to take off the $1 of our combo meal for bringing in a coupon he made it up by returning our coupon and giving us each an ice cream cone! How awesome is that?! Snaps to Dave at Pollo Loco!!!

Dinner & Awards

In between working the night study I managed to sneak away to attend Marco’s award dinner for work. We had a great dinner buffet at The Reef in Long Beach and got to see Marco’s buddy, Fernando, and his wife. It was a nice evening. Congratulations to Marco for passing the highest level exam!

I ran into Farmer John today and was surprised to see he’s a fellow Mazda owner now. Yay! His car, Frank the Pirate, is pretty sweet! Congrats on the awesome new car FJ!

Lights Out

Today was a pretty exciting day. I went into work a little early, before our night study, but ended up going home early after the electricity went out for 700 businesses, including ours. Yay! Since we were out early, I dropped Manda off at her new place and got to visit the kitties (Vash, the kitty that loves water and Red, the kitty that’s as big as a dog). Her kitties are so sweet!

The New Place

The new place is coming along fine. We are still trying to figure out the right set up though. This weekend we decided to change things up a bit. The room we had set up as an office was a little too far and cold so we decided to take over the “dining” area and make it into our new office. We don’t plan on having big dinner parties so it works. Now it feels more like a family area since Marco and I spend so much time on our computers. Now the kitchen, living room area, cat corner, and office are all close to each other. So now that we have another spare room we plan on converting it into our hobby/library room. It’ll be a place for me to paint, get some sewing done, and a library in one.

Neighborly Cookies

Today the neighbor from across the street came over to introduce herself and bring a plate of homemade chocolate chip cookies. Yum! That was sooo sweet of her! I thought they only did that back in the 50’s. It’s nice when neighbors make the effort of getting to know you. I think I’ll take some time to go introduce myself to the other neighbors around us this weekend.

Valentine's Day '08

Yay, Manda came back a day early from Bakersfield so we got a chance to exchange Valentine’s Day cards. We haven't seen much of eachother since she's in Bakersfield for a few weeks and I'm working nights.

Later Marco and I had a lovely Brazilian Valentine’s Day Dinner. It was a great Valentine's Day!

I came into work today and found a big box of lilies waiting on my desk. It turns out they delivered the flowers Marco got me a day early. They’re lovely!

Smuckers found another favorite spot next to the sliding glass door where the sun shines in. I found her rolling in the sun playing with her shadow. Cute!

Smuckers discovered the corner I set up for her and Lily. She seems to love the view of the birds outside.

Exploring New Terriroty

This weekend we finally let the girls out to explore the new house. They have been staying in our bedroom for a week now in order to get them used to a new location, but after a week, it was time for them to come out of their “safe” place. Smuckers was the first one out, but after I picked her up and showed her the rest of the place she freaked out. Lily followed shortly after. I was surprised to see Lily exploring a little more than Smuckers. I think for now we’re only going to let them out while we’re home.

Old School Stuff

Marco and I spent most of the day unpacking boxes. We also had to unpack boxes we had in storage from the last time we moved. I ended up finding some really old stuff…some cool and some sad.

I found this 110 camera I used while I was living in Holland…LoL.

I found this box of cassette tapes that date back to when I was still in High School….Cool!

And I found this old picture of my buddy Mike and me at Six Flags Magic Mountain. We both worked at the Looney Tunes Super Store there. Shortly after this picture was taken, he was killed…Tears!
