Human Torso Doll

Manda and I wandered into this cool science toy shop at the mall today. They had all kinds of cool games and puzzles, but I think the most unusual thing we found was this human torso in a doll box…creepy! LoL!

Look boys and girls, now you can snuggle up with your very own human torso doll, yay!

Thomas' B-day @ BJ's

Although his birthday was officially yesterday, we got together today to celebrate Thomas’ 30th birthday. We ended up going to BJ’s and had a great time! The service was a bit crappy this time around but the food was good and the dessert was spectacular….yum, Pizookie. HAPPY BIRTHDAY THOMAS!!

ATV Ride & Bass Pro Shops

Kevin and I went out to Glen Helen to film some footage for a project we have coming up. After a long day of prepping and filming we had a nice dinner at the Islamorada Fish Company Restaurant attached to the Bass Pro Shops in San Bernardino. The food there was delicious, the service was great, and the store was amazing!

Orange Sky

Sure the sky looks beautiful, but the reality is that we’re inhaling more smoke and ash than ever. Eww.. The good news is that today my parents were let back in their place. They were happy to see that they still had a place to go back to. Talk about a close call.

L.A. @ Night

Traffic has been a nightmare since the fires, so I have been taking my alternate route home…I love how LA looks at night.

I found this picture in a magazine while waiting for the doctor in the waiting room. I could not stop laughing when I saw it, so when no one was looking, I snatched the pic. LoL! Hmmm…I guess I could have just taken a picture of it. Oh well. It's small, I doubt they'll miss it.

Crazy Fires

This weekend was real crappy! Besides dealing with a horrible sinus headache for most of it, I worried while my parents were evacuated from their home due to a big fire that was coming too close. It’s difficult to just sit at home watching the news while this crazy fire continues to spread. I’m just happy my folks are safe and have a place to stay. The picture above shows the smoke making its way into the valley from Santa Clarita earlier today.

Angara

For our Friday lunch we visited Angara which is just a few miles from where I work. It’s a small Indian food restaurant with the most AMAZING food! Their rice pudding is to die for…Yummmmmm! If you're in the area, you should definitly try it out. Don't let the simple exterior and lack of parking fool you.

Another Route 2 Work

After hearing that the 405 fwy was backed up again, I decided to take an alternate route. It turned out to be a good decision because I got to work in just under an hour. I like that this alternate route takes me through downtown L.A. but I hate that it also takes me under several overpasses…after living through the Northridge earthquake I can’t help by worry about driving under overpasses. Anyhow, it beats dealing with the 405 traffic.

Crazy Wednesday

Lots going on today!
Traffic was a nightmare! It took me an hour to travel a distance of 3 miles so I finally gave up on the 405fwy and took the 101 instead. All-in-all, it took me 2 hours and 15 minutes to get to work. *Sigh*
We had our first fire evacuation. Right before lunchtime we were all instructed to exit the building due to smoke. The sweet firefighters came to check things out and an hour later, we were let back in the building.
The day isn’t over so who knows what else is going to happen…stay tuned.

The Evil Chicken Head Costume

So of course I went back to Target to pick up that chicken cat costume…What can I say, I can’t resist a good picture. Talk about an idea gone horribly wrong! First I strapped the chicken head on Smuckers and she just went wild! She started shaking her head back and forth until she got it off. Marco was able to hold her for a little while but I didn’t get any good shots since she was pissed and ready to bite him. I had just about given up when Lily came by. I quickly grabbed her, strapped the chicken head and took a few shots. When I let her go, she went CRAZY! She started galloping around like a wild horse! Smuckers got so freaked out when she saw lily she started attacking the chicken head that was still sitting on Lily’s head. Poor Lily! It took me 15 minutes to get close enough to Lily to be able to take the stupid thing off her head. Ok, that’s the last time we try that!! It’s going back to Target tomorrow. Sorry kitties, LoL.

TPed House

This is why I carry my camera wherever I go…You never know when you’ll run into gems like this. LoL! I saw this on my way into work this morning. Aw-man, these people are going to be pissed when they wake up. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!…oh wait, that’s still 2 weeks away. Oops.

Chicken Headed Cat

Today I saw the most retarded Halloween costumes for cats at Target. They had a chicken head you could strap on to your cat, bow ties, devil costumes, and some other stupid crap. Poor pets! But then again….Smuckers would look funny in a chicken head…and it would make for a very funny picture…hmmmm LoL. Stay tuned to see if I end up strapping a chicken head to poor Smuckers or Lily.

Ethan's 1st B-day!

Little Ethan turned 1 today!! Hip-Hip-Hoora! Several family members and friends gathered at Janice’s today to celebrate Ethan’s first birthday. We had snacks and pizza, blew bubbles while the kids played other games, and sang to Ethan while he admired his 3 birthday cakes + cupcakes. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ETHAN!

The Friday Report

Manda got braces! Could you see them? She’s sporting the new Invisalign braces (they’re pretty much just clear trays that you switch out every few weeks until your teeth are perfectly straight).
Other things that happened today:

• We had Thai food for lunch with Mike,


• Bridges came home from the Auto Body again, and


• I watched “Snakes on a Plane”….funny movie.

The New Chick-D

After our workout, Manda and I decided to try out the new Chicken Dijon in Torrance to see how it compared to the one closer to work. This Chicken Dijon is a little fancier than the one we’re used to but the food is pretty much the same. Although they messed up our order a few times, the workers there were friendly and eventually got our order right.

Plants and Flowers

Our office plants are great! We don’t always remember to water our plants before the weekend, but not to worry…they always bounce right back with a little water.

For show-&-Tell, Ken brought in these crazy looking flowers he has in his garden. They look like something from the ocean or alien planet. I think they’re called Night Blooming Cereus. They smell a little funny but they look awesome.

Picnic Beach Lemon Day

Talk about having a busy weekend! Marco and I were up early getting ready for the day. Got a few things done before driving down to Ranch Palos Verdes for the DRI company picnic, which was fun. After that we were back on the 405 fwy heading towards Malibu for Lemon’s 24th birthday dinner. We got there a little early so we stopped by the beach to walk along the shoreline for a while. After that, headed to Duke’s and waited for Lemon to arrive. We had a great time at Duke’s and continued the festivities by going to Lemon’s new pad and playing a little Wii. It was a very fun but tiring day.

Sometimes our Adventure Friday lunches are determined by the coupons available. Today we had some great coupons to El Pollo Loco so that’s what we had. Yum, I’m always down for El Pollo.

Free Lunch Tuesdays

Tuesday lunches are dedicated to learning new programs via a set of instructional videos at work. Everyone loves attending those ‘cause we get some pretty good tips on programs we use often, and the company buys us lunch. Yay!

Back From Costa Rica

Manda and Pablo came back from Costa Rica with all kinds of fun stories and awesome pictures. Lucky Pablo got to sail on a boat, hike up to a volcano, relax on a hammock, and visit all kinds of cool places. Click here to see more pictures.
